Having recently been the victim of tool thieves, they broke into one of our vans, I found myself having to buy new tools. I previously had a Hilti Impact driver, which was a super little drill, a Festool HKC 55 fsk set, a second fix Paslode and Makita combI drill. Also stolen were a Dewalt chopsaw, a Festool plane and guide saw, Makita reciprocating saw and a Makita router. I’d never really considered how much all these tools cost when totalled up. Brand new your looking at the best part of £3000 maybe more. I haven’t got that sort of money to throw about in one hit on replacement tools, Festool and Hilti so expensive but are really high quality gear. For the second fix nail gun I think the Paslode is the only option. The Dewalt chopsaw is a great saw but it’s just so damn heavy! I’m not sure what replacements to go for! At the moment I think I’m going to stick with Makita for all my cordless bits, I’ve always found them reliable and not overly expensive. As for the bigger items I think I’m going to have to get saving!
